Turkmenistan and People's Republic of China sign a package of cooperation documents
During the opening of the plenary session, it was emphasized that over the years the Turkmen–Chinese Intergovernmental Committee has proven to be an effective mechanism for coordinating cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Particular attention at the meeting was given to the development of trade and economic relations, with the energy sector identified as a key priority of bilateral cooperation. Expanding collaboration in transport and logistics was also highlighted among the main agenda items. According to Turkmen State News Agency, the 7th meeting of the Turkmen–Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The plenary session was preceded by a meeting of the co-chairs, where the parties exchanged views on the current state of bilateral dialogue in a constructive and доверительной atmosphere. Participants also discussed the importance of further expanding cooperation in education and science, emphasizing the value of regularly holding mutual cultural days, exhibitions, and creative festivals. It was also noted that cooperation in healthcare, sports, and tourism plays an important role in strengthening friendly relations. Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including: — an agreement on establishing a joint Turkmen–Chinese energy training center; — a memorandum of understanding between diplomatic educational institutions of the two countries; — a program of scientific, technical, and innovation cooperation for 2026–2028; — an MoU on cooperation in artificial intelligence; — agreements on transport and logistics cooperation and the establishment of cultural centers; — an agreement to create a center for traditional Chinese medicine; — a five-year cooperation program for 2026–2030; — a general agreement outlining the main principles of cooperation in the gas sector. In addition, the protocol of the 7th meeting of the Turkmen–Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation was signed.
