Turkmen Leader Set Tasks for Improving the Agricultural Sector

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov organized a working meeting dedicated to issues of the agro-industrial sphere, where he issued directives on thorough organization of spring fieldwork, timely payments to farmers, and ensuring uninterrupted operation of communal infrastructure in the regions. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and regional administration heads.
In his address, the president emphasized the importance of seasonal agricultural activities. He gave instructions to carry out cultivation and leveling of land plots for cotton crops in accordance with agronomic standards, focus on supplying seed material to farmers, and guarantee the selection of quality seeds.
The head of state also issued directives regarding the preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for the start of sowing operations, continuation of care for winter grain crops with compliance to agrotechnological standards, and harvesting of sugar beets in Mary Region. Additionally, it is necessary to keep under control the organization of spring planting of potatoes and melon crops.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered supervision of complete and timely financial settlements between cotton growers, grain producers, and service organizations in the regions for completed work on harvesting cotton, grain, and rice in Lebap Region, as well as sugar beets in Mary Region. It is necessary to properly carry out work on landscaping territories, irrigation and drainage networks, and preparing agricultural lands for spring.
The president gave instructions to concentrate attention on issues of stable functioning of heating systems in residential housing, educational and preschool institutions, supplying regional residents with electricity, gas, and drinking water, as well as carefully monitoring the implementation of construction projects for industrial and socio-cultural facilities in the regions.
