An international conference marking 20 years of Turkmen–Chinese gas cooperation has opened in Ashgabat

An international scientific and practical conference titled “Turkmenistan – People's Republic of China: 20 Years of Strategic Cooperation in the Gas Industry” has begun in Ashgabat. The forum is being held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The central event is a high-level plenary session focused on energy partnership, investment, and the development of the gas industry. The session is moderated by Rahimberdi Jepbarov. Participants include Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov, First Vice Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang, Chairman of Turkmengas Maksat Babaev, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Petroleum Corporation Dai Houliang.
The conference program includes two thematic sessions. The first focuses on Turkmenistan’s key gas projects, including its resource base, investment opportunities, and the development of export infrastructure. The second session is dedicated to workforce training and expanding scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, a contract is expected to be signed for the turnkey development of Phase IV of the Galkynysh field between Turkmengas and “CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd.” Participants will also have the opportunity to visit a тематическая exhibition.
