Official news
On May 8, in the capital of Uzbekistan, at the Yangi Toshkent Conference Hall, the international conference "The Akhal-Teke Horse – A Symbol of Friendship Among Peoples" was held. An exhibition of decorative and applied arts of the Turkmen people was displayed in the foyer, reports TDH. During the conference, the heads of the State Association "Türkmen atlary" ("Turkmen Horses"), the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Sports of Uzbekistan delivered welcoming addresses, in which they sincerely congratulated those present on the holding of internationally significant events in Tashkent dedicated to the "heavenly" horses in the year of "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Determined Winged Horses." As was noted, throughout history, horses have been an integral part of the daily life of the peoples of the region. The horse was and remains a faithful companion to mankind in difficult times and "spread wings" in days of joy. Today, there are hundreds of horse breeds in the world, among which the Akhal-Teke is one of the most ancient. Strong confidence was expressed that the international beauty contest, equestrian competitions, and conference taking place in Uzbekistan would serve as a wonderful opportunity to reveal the historical and cultural significance of the Akhal-Teke horse. During the conference "The Akhal-Teke Horse – A Symbol of Friendship Among Peoples," reports were presented on the glorious historical journey of the Akhal-Teke breed.
